Before the days of the VCR, DVD, and DVR recorders, didn't you hated when a show you liked on network, time slot was changed and would be up against another tv show you liked on another network. Here are two times that drove me crazy when this happened.
At the start of the 1967-68 season NBC moved The Man From U.N.C.L.E (which was in it's fourth season) to Monday Night's at 8. Another show I liked was the Rat Patrol on ABC and was on also on Monday Nights at 8:30, this was the same time slot it was in the previous season. The Rat Patrol only run for a half-hour, and was in it's second season. This meant that the last half of UNCLE would be up against the Rat Patrol. It was ironic that both shows would be cancelled that season. The Man From U.N.C.L.E last show was in January of 68, and the Rat Patrol September of 68.
In December of 1977 Charlie's Angeles in it's second year was seen on Wednesday Night at 9. The previous season it was seen at 10. NBC which was bringing back the The Black Sheep Squadron for a second season, after it was originally cancelled by NBC the previous season. The original title of the show was Baa Baa Black Sheep and was seen on Tuesday's at 8 during the entire 1976-77 TV Season. NBC sloted the show at Wednesdays at 9, against the Angels. To go head to head with the Angels, after six episodes, Black Sheep added Pappy's Little Lambs (they were Nurese;s stationed on the same island as the squadron). In fact the episodes started to revolve more around the Nurses than the Black Sheep Squadron. But in March of 78, after these changes were made to compete and against the Angels, NBC moved the show to Thursday at 9.
After three months in that time slot NBC moved the show to Friday Nights at 8. It was cancelled by NBC that spring and it's last show was August of 78.
Anybody have any memories of this before technology changed and we could record a show while watching another show.
