Wher is 1380 in Baaumont

A year or longer KCRM 1380 went off to move to the Woodlands Why it's it on the air?
It seems to me by now the FCC would have let someone else have the frequency in Beaumont or the Woodlands,

KRCM is ID'ing as KLBT, 88.1, Beaumont, but not simulcasting. They are using a longwire antenna. The voice is Jeff Roberts. Programming Christian music. Coming in very well in mid Orange CO during the day.

This is incorrect. KRCM is attempting to move from Beaumont to Shenandoah, north of Houston. It is currently off the air. Jeff Roberts, a fine man who worked at 92.5 KTFA before it was purchased by Clear Channel and turned into KCOL, worked at KOLE/KRCM prior to his current work at KLBT-FM (a Christian station at 88.1 FM). Its good to hear Jeff still on the air.

As for KRCM, I don't know that it will ever get successfully back on the air any time soon.

WCJ is correct...stan in partially correct.KRCM is simulcasting KLBT, with their permission of course. However plans are still on to make the move out the Houston way...its just taking time.

This will teach me to post when I am on vacation. KRCM being back on the air in Beaumont is a new development that occurred during my two weeks in California! And simulcasting KLBT at that! Now, how does that work, since KLBT is non-commercial? I assume that KRCM runs no commercials as well?

I'm curious - are the calls for 1380 now KLBT, or are they just not running a legal KRCM ID on the AM station?

According to FCC records the calls are still KRCM. Operating under an STA, holding a construction permit to move the station the Houston area and also seeking an upgrade once they actually move it, I think I'd be making sure that the station isn't violating any FCC rules, like failing to ID it properly!

Also of note is that KRCM made it back on the air just in time to keep their license; they informed the FCC that they signed on June 8th, two days before the drop-dead date. Operation under the current STA, using the long wire antenna, expires November 29th. As stated in their correspondence file they hope to have some kind of operation going on in Shenandoah before then. That's under the 250-watt non-directional permit approved back in 2007, which expires next year.
