Where are all the "Nay sayers?"

I just have to poke this hornets nest one time! LOL I was just wondering what happened to all the anonymous BS slingers now that Jared Mimms is leaving Thomas Media for a job with Saga in Clarksville?!!! "It's a mass exodus!" "It must be true that they're a terrible company!" "All the bad stuff people say about them must be true because Jared is leaving!" LMAO As I type this it just reminded me how absolutely silly some folks are. Truth be known, Jared got a better offer much like he did when he left here! I'm all for a guy bettering his career. Good luck my Cajun friend! Halla at cha boyeeeeeee! Oh and tell Donald, AJ and Dave we said howdy! LOL

??? well Gregg, I dunno about what you're talking here, (I didn't say "nay" about any of these people, as I've never heard of any of them-or the companies either really), but I do have a question or two you could answer for me.
Is the mid-day lady gone from 92.3?
and,
Who is the "whispering" fellow that's been doing the shift?
I can't hear him about half the time. Is that just being "cool" or does he have some sort of condition?

Anyway...I'm glad the station's there. The playlist is much better suited to me than 98.1 or 103. I hope they never change it to a FM100 clone or something.

Is the website gone?

And when you call it the "Shut up and Rock" show, who, specifically, is to shut up?
(I know who AIN'T!)

You know I kid...

Meep On!

Well, being since I got here before Gregg, let me answer...

That's "The Glass-man" on Mid-days, he is our News Guy and is filling in for Jody while she is on Vacation... She actually did a remote Monday night (while on vacation, what a trooper)

I try to mention that she's on vacation every night on my show... guess that shows how many people listen to me. ha ha ha.

the website is currently under construction and won't be posted for a while, we obviously couldn't keep all the "Clear Channel" stuff... so it's in the process.

Glad you like the play list, Meep... if you get a chance tune in for Rock History and Rock News at 8:50ish and 9:50ish respectively

oh one more thing... ROCK ON!!

Thanks for the info, J.
When I am out at night, I usually have the station on.
You must understand that after lo these many years in and out of radio, I often don't even hear the words a jock is saying.
The only reason I ever listen to a station anymore is the music.
If I were to go to storage and get out my 1000+ collections of good old vinyl albums, they would consist of most of the same artists on the playlist.
Since I no longer live in Memphis, the signal for 92 is better than 98.1's as well as the music being better.
Other than Drake and Zeke...they got nothing (and it doesn't appear that D&Z is doing them all that much good)
I'm in and out of the car all day, on the cell phone in the vehicle, and behind this desk. When I'm not listening to cd's in the car, it's 92.3.
There are still a lot of us old rock heads around. Only back in the day it wasn't "Classic Rock" it was just "Rock".
When did a lot of that "doobie" thing mentioned on another board, but we never dreamed of still enjoying the same music in our 40's!

to be one hundred percent honest... i could care less about the jocks myself... i listen to radio for the music... people have always told me i was born the the wrong generation... to me, classic rock is rock at it's best, they way it was meant to be.

Hey Meep, the reason I bring it all up is it was so stupid...the entire time we were trying our best to make it through a ownership change, there was one or two people posting crap annonamously. It was all crap too. Those responsible even stooped so low as to try and spoof one of my email accounts to create ANOTHER identity on this forum. Here's the proof!;

The above was sent to my email address and the person that used it either forgot my password, or decided I'd KNOW who they were because only a select few knew the user name and password to that email address! In other words, they chickened out. However if you look at some of those past posts, you'll see they STILL used the "smarty" in one of the annonomous accounts they used to post crap on the forum. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer! LOL I was just wondering what took all the wind out of their sails now that Jared Mims is jumping again? LOL "It's twoo! It's twoo!" LOL

Mr. Rivers I assume you are referring to me. I had no idea that "smarty" was one of your alias'. I use the name because it has been my nickname for years. Interesting that you apparantly have a few email accounts...are you one of the anyomous posters? :) I noticed that once managment at Forever clamped down on thier people posting here it all dried up. I think most of the Forever bashing was from disgruntled employees hiding behind fake email addressess. (speaking of Forever bashing, check out the Altoona board)

And by the way, one person leaving Thomas Media is nothing compared to ten or more people leaving Forever in such a short time span.

Having said all this, I must say I acutally like Froggy 104. The music is good and so are the dj's (except for their goofy air names. Polly Wog? ugh). Much better than what I had anticipated.

Re: Where are all the "Nay sayers?" (Froggy edition)

Don't ask me how I know...
but here's what'll happen with "Froggy".

It'll do pretty well for a while. It'll be okay while it's a novelty. The jocks will sound upbeat-because they are!
It is a fun format to work with.
Then, many people will stay with it because it is still a new format from what they've heard before.
Still others will grow tired of things like deep, baritone Froooooooooooogyyyyyyy! dropped between songs.
Then, they'll run out of Froggy names for all the new and part-time jocks. They'll consult the list and find names on it like "Luke Skyhopper" and "Pete Moss" and "Jack Jumper"
(There was an original once called "Hoppy Gilmore"-but I digress. Every other "Froggy" station will steal it.)
Puns like, "Time's fun when you're havin' flies!" will be hilarious at first and then become commonplace.
It boils down to the music. 12 in a row becomes 20 in a row.
Soon, you have just another good country station that should have been a great country station.
Once the novelty wears off, people may just go back to gettin' their country wherever they got it before.
Of course, this was country BEFORE it was a Froggy, so everythng may be different.
Either way...it'll be fun while it's happening.

Not that I know anything about this...I'm just feeling a bit psychic this afternoon. ;D

"Smarty" is NOT one of my alias'. It's one someone tried to set up using MY email address! ;) Read the post again there "smarty"
By the way...two have left Thomas in the past few weeks! Oh and my count on the "mass exodous" was 5 not 10. But who's counting? LOL ME!

Why would you say that... is it because he made three posts on this board between Sept. 12 and Sept. 21... now if he had made say three in one hour... then yes, lots of free time... but as it stands... no.

Gregg Rivvers and Free Time rarely go together.
