OK never mind. I did a search and I see this topic was discussed several months ago. If anyone who counts reads this.........Ron Jordan would be an interesting afternoon drive jock on the max. I'd listen to him.

I was operations manager at WVIM when Ron was doing that show. If memory is correct it lasted all of a month but maybe 2

Yea, he wasn't on long. Must have made someone angry. As I remember, he was good at that.

To your suprise He and I managed to have no run-ins and other people
had given me fair warning. He brokered the time so he did his own thing
almost his own way. I didn't push follow the Rotation Clock or any stuff like that.... He didn't throw the stations format out the window so to the listener
it was fairly transparent... He did play tons more gold (classic country) but
at the time we had taken that trend a bit more as Kix and Froggy were playing very little classic country. We also had alot more up-tempo stuff in rotation
compared to the other 2. Ron also on his own played more uptempo type stuff.
He was doing a fairly good show except for involving his lady friend on the air.
She just didnt have a radio voice or come across with the right type of personality....

I would guess he had been off the air for years at that time. I know before there he did a little stint at WSTN in Sommerville and years before wasn't he on 56 HBQ when flinn did the block format in the late 80s country/top 40/alternative rock... anyway thats a whole new thread...

Ron had some spot sold for his time and I believe a few running outside of his brokered time. I am sure he wanted to come in and do his show... out beating the streets is really not his way.

Do you think he made his clients pay cash?? lol

off the topic...

WVIM was my final radio job. However over the past few years I've really started missing radio. I play with an internet stream... too bad radio is much different...

if anyone runs into some used equip. that works for cheap $ I have my eyes open for a nicer mixer than i have.. 1 or 2 more condenser mics... mic processing.. cheap duplex phone hybrid... and compressors/limiters and other processing....
