Where Are They Now?

A few personalities that I've been wondering about. Anybody know where they are or what they're doing now?

- Patty Parr (did traffic on KMPS in early 70's with Phil Harper & Don Riggs)
- Mark Allen (afternoons on KPLZ in late 80's & voice of International Jewelers for a long time)
- Penny Coin (middays on Young Country and ...I believe... the first one around here doing the "impossible question")
- Beau Roberts (late nights on KXRX & ???)
- The goofy guy with the Australian accent that was on The End when it was much newer.

Just wondering.

HEARD HER DO DROP-INS ON BOB LIDDLE SHOW ON KIXI. LAST I SAW SHE WAS WORKING FOR WICKS AS TRAINER FOR TRAFFIC SOFTWARE (PRIOR TO WICKS ACQUISITION). NOT SURE IF STILL IN THE AREA OR NOT? AKA "PENNY TUCKER"

Beau is still based in Seattle doing radio station imaging all over the country. Thats him you hear on KZOK, and I'm thrilled to have him as the voice of my station here in Kalispell, Mt, Classic Rock KBBZ.

I believe you are referring to Norman B., who was one of the original KNDD personalities, and had previously been on KXRX. I thought his accent was British, though. I don't know where he is.

Whaaaat??? You mean your dragon slaying tones aren't being utilized :)

Boom

Norman B

Norman B is doing radio in California somewhere -

Anyone know where "Crazy Steve Randall" is?...

..or former KAYE Puyallup's "Herb Smiles" from the 60's?

Boom? As in Carl "Boomer" Palmer? Careful or this will turn into a 'formerly of KZOK' reunion! Carl rocks! BTW, another former KZOK (and KXRXer)dudester Brew Michaels is here at KBBZ. We stream at KBBZ.com. Check it out. We think we got a great little station here in NW Montana.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: KXRX was the last of the very best in radio. Nothing in the market here now compares. I miss it every day.

SOOoooo... is Robin coming to work with you when their contract here expires this spring??! :)

If you're running it, then Montana is "smokin" buddy. Yep, one in the same here. Nice to see Brew landed a sweet gig as well. I'll PM you and get you my new contact info.

He was British all right. Came complete with the long-distance calls he made from the station, I think on the request lines, to his folks in England.

Penny Coin is heard daily on Sirius Radio's "Standard Time."
I believe it's Sirius channel 75, because I catch it on Dish channel 6075.

It's the same person because I heard that voice on the KIXI drop-ins.

Bobby Rich has been in Tucson since 1992. He is morning guy and PD on KMXZ.

I think he told me several years ago that the other two guys stayed a team and were in Florida or the mid-west. My memory is fading. :)

Didn't one of them make an attempt at stand-up comedy. I kind of remember hearing something about that. That was years ago, though, so I could be wrong.
______________

"Stereo Wars", "Mark's Moment Of Mush", "Friday Night Live", and "KLPZ, the station with balls". That was a promotion they did where they used to give away baseballs, footballs, & basketballs, IIRC. I don't think they would be able to get away with saying that now. Great radio 80's radio memories. Mark was a big part of it.
______________

One of the other sweepers at the time was Casey's "Lock us In and Rip the Knobs off" liner. As fate would have it, the door handle on the (heavy) control room door was starting to fall apart ... causing one jock to make a Sharpie-version of that liner and slap it on inside of control room door. Whenever I hear someone refer to that liner that's the first image I always have.....

For the life of me I can't remember who the others (besides Bobby who was also GM at the time) were? Anyone recall the names? Rob Sisco was PD at the time and is now with Nielsen....

Just got this reply from an email to Bobby Rich:

Alpha Trivette and Kelly Stevens. After Seattle they were in Florida
(Tampa I think), Denver and Atlanta. I think they are still there at
what was called WSB-fm. I think the station may have changed call
letters because they have a different identity.
