Where Are They Now?

I live in the south now, but was raised in Chicago. I was wondering what happened to Tony Phillips and Rick Elliott of the old "BBM-FM". Are they on the air anywhere?

You DO go back a long time, rac! Both those gentleman left WBBM-FM when it turned into B96 in the early 80's. I haven't heard much about them in years, though Rick Elliot for a long time made a good living as a voice over announcer, and Tony Phillips was working at the old FM100 right before it changed format from a beautiful music station.

Whoa, this is karma-like.
I went to SIU with "Tony" (and I know his real name), and he helped me get an audition for a part time post at the old WBBM-FM in the early 1970s. I didn't have to spend a lot of time figuring out I wasn't ready to play in that league, but that's another story.
I know he was injured when he was the victim of an attempted carjacking, and lost some of his sight.
Greg Brown might know what's happened to Tony.
