Where are you, Car 54, Where Are You?

Is there any chance that the TV series I consider the funniest of all time, “Car 54 Where are You?”, will ever be released on DVD? My favorite episode is the one where guest star Jan Murray is driven insane judging a song contest where hundreds of barber shop quartets, including the men of the 53rd precinct (with Fred Gwynne singing soprano!!) all singing the same phrase, “BOOM BOOM BOOM”.(Title) It is scene by scene a masterpiece of film comedy. I can not believe, with all the trivial trash TV programs including newly premiered shows being released constantly on DVD, that this totally hilarious classic has not been given its due. Could it be a legal or a copyright issue? Do all the original prints exist? Is there an individual or company I could write to encouraging the release of this landmark program?

I doubt it has to anything to with copyrights and yes all the prints still exist but still with that being said I am not totally not sure why Car 54 isn't on DVD unless its a demand issue. I got my DVDs of this show from Ioffer.com ( I know ). The only thing negative about this show after Car 54 was Bea Pons who had played Guther Toody's wife Lucille. In 1980 she did a combination soft core porno/very graphic horror flick called "Mother's Day" which "spooked" Nick@Nite to move the show to the now defunct HA! The Comedy Network. a channel with far less viewers.

Technically....it's not defunct.....just reincarnated as the present-day Comedy Central.
