I happened to hit the Central Pa. board and read the posts on First Fave Stations. It's a fun read. On this hot, muggy, summer morning where the air hangs heavy and just a wisp of a breeze moves the tall grass, I had a flashback to summers long gone.
I had a little white GE transistor radio that I took everywhere. Back then I lived down in the MontCo county seat. I loved music. The '60s and AM radio. Motown, British Invasion, The Surf Sound and some legends from the previous decade. 'FIL and 'IBG. 56 and 99. An occassional stop between the two at 77. Boss Jocks and Good Guys. Red Mustangs, doubledecker buses and Boss Chicks. Top 99 countdowns. Radio voices, distinct and packed with energy. Bumper sticker contests and prize patrols. Great nicknames and Mr. Spock haircuts. When FM caught on the only thing close was WIFI.
How it went from that to today, I don't know. Where did it all go?
