I've been going through the links on my site and LPRS is gone. I miss the free radio shows for all of us radio gurus. Are they at a new web site? I hope to link up with them again for more voice work. Thanks...

DW,

LPRS has died a long time ago, I was in the process of changing it to another site name, that covers more of the spectrum, which is located at http://www.radiovillage.net. I have widened everything to include services, along with a message board (I am not trying to compete with Radio Info at all). I have Web services (website building) on there, as well as imaging services, so it has not left at all.

The free radio shows WOULD HAVE continued, and that is what I was focusing Radio Village around. When I created it, it included easy-to-browse radio show listings, and who to contact. What has happened is that all the radio shows found out that we had to have licenses from the RECORD Companies themselves (Such as Sony, Capitol, etc). We thought all we needed was a notice saying the station must have the proper licensing from BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, etc. I found out that the show, however, needed licensing for the music played, and not the lyrics. It sucks, but what could I (or we!) do..

Hope this answers your question!

Hello, Jake. I remember the days at GT-100 where we had to fill in what song we were playing at a given moment into the BMI book. We had to do this once a year. I don't think it's fair that the record companies are picking on us li'l people.
Cheers,
