Where did the WAMO listeners go?

I agree. When me and the golden girls are cruising Forbes and Murray we crank up Willie and Waylon CD's full blast. I like Fogerty and George Jones too. The theme from Grease by Frankie is great to turn up full blast. Over and over again. I love it going up Shady by (yeccch) Allderdice. Used to smoke in the back . Coulda ignited my hairspray.

When a car pulls up alongside me and the sound system is cranked loud enough for me to hear what is being played, if the music is identifiable as "hip-hop", regardless of the ethnicity of the driver, I do not think they are listening to a radio station. What makes me suspect it is not the radio is that the song lyrics include many words that the FCC won't allow and I never hear a DJ talking or a commercial -- only wall-to-wall music. How does a radio station convince listeners to tune in their station with DJ, commercials, and censored lyrics if the audience prefers no DJ's, no commercials, and filthy lyrics?

They won't. One of the many problems that WAMO faced, particularly in the PPM era. Not to mention, it's a tough sell to advertisers.

If they( Radio stations ) talk about something local like the next big concert, Hot clubs,PLAY NEW MUSIC,PLAY LOCAL MUSIC and stop playing the same old Sh-t over and over, radio ( of any format ) can take anyone away from there C.D's, Ipods, tapes or whatever. No Ipods and C.D's can give you local info, but Radio stations are too Stupid to realize that.

The WAMO Listeners 18-29 moved out of Pittsburgh to bigger cities. REAL TALK! even myself i live in nyc now since 08'

When Clarke Ingram and HYPWR ignore me, I have failed. I used to listen to WAMO all the time, but I guess 1961 doesn't count :'(
