The toe wonders where the listeners went. Do your phones remain silent while you're on the air? Are we simply talking to ourselves while wearing the headphones? Have the listeners abandoned our local radio programming? Is anyone listening, or are we just background noise during their busy lives?

The toe is disappointed. DJ's used to be magical. Phones used to ring off the wall. Now, those magical DJ's are nothing more than data on a hard drive.

Anyone know a good consultant that can provide a fix? (The toe is being sarcastic. Why would a consultant even care?)
 
The BUSINESS consultants told the corporate task-masters that the "modern" way and "profitable" way to broadcast these days is to VT or pipe-in the entire station, run it on the cheap, and busy out or forward the phone calls. No one will notice. Has anyone noticed that radio's overall slice of the pie is decreasing? Yup. No one noticed.
 
The sadness is great. I would shed a tear for radio as it is today, but the corporate task-masters didn't set any money set aside in the budget for a box of kleenex. Instead, I'll have to settle for a few sheets of corporate task-master one ply toilet paper made from wood chips, but considering how rough that toilet paper is, I'll decline to shed my tears at this time. Maybe I can sneak in Jack and Ron's private luxury bathroom and steal a roll of the good stuff, providing I can get past their in-house security cameras without being seen.
