Where do I start getting satelitte feeds, etc.

Hi!

I'm looking at putting a dark station back on the air. The station has NO satellite news, so where do I begin to contact National and STATE news agencies to provide a dish and a feed for me?

Thanks a lot!

For national I would suggest Westwood One Radio Networks.
They Have several choices for news programming. Do a Google Search to find them.
Far as state news since i dont know your state cant help there.

Great, sounds like you've found a station, seems you were looking to buy one recently, may I ask what location you've bought one, Atlanta, Northwest Georgia?
AM or FM?

Did the previous crew stay onboard when you bought the station or do you have to bring new people in and man up? I too am looking for a station (licensed) but not much success here in my area! Alot of religious stations and translators, I got to wonder who listens to all these stations, 7 and counting all on the lower FM dial...

Good luck!

Good information - thanks

Checked them out.
You can get all types of formats 24hrs a day
they give your receiver and pay lease for you.
Monthly cost about 350 and you get 10 mins an hour for your commericals
if you dont have commericals most of the time they have plain music that fills automatically.I am discussing with someone about buying dark station and I dont want to get too busy with it just get it up and running. CNN Headlines news 24hours a day could do it.

Looks like their barter from their website but I am sure the Comstream receiver and the 10ft Satellite dish will set you back a little bit of change.

So you'd have to be selling more commercial time (ads) than than the cost of $350.00/month to get this? that's $4,300.00 a year and that is a lot of money for a part15 operation? I'm sure if you are selling $1000.00/month or more in ad sales then you are doing pretty good for part15.

This info was for the post about a dark station

This was an answer to the individual who wanted to have a feed for a dark station that he wanted to put back on the air. Dark station refers to a licensed station that is off the air. I am also looking at purchasing such a station. In these cases this is a great deal.
