Where do the broadcasters in Aberdeen broadcast from?

According to Radio locator, they are in fact up on South Mountain, but I don't notice any difference in signal strength up here. I couldn't pick them up last time I was in Pacific County though.

Thanks for the info, guys. I think KANY still must be located in the Aberdeen FM antenna farm as I can still hear KGHP on my 93.7 frequency.

Crainbebo - One thing I still need to test (I regretably forgot to do this when I was there last week) is how well the on air repeaters are working. KJET broadcasts on 105.7 in pacific county somewhere, AND on 105.7 from the Aberdeen tower farm. I wonder if the signal is effectively strong, or distorted with multipath once you are a ways from the transmitter. Also, with KLSY moving to 107.3, wont that wipe out KXRO's low power FM repeater on 107.5?

I thought you wound find this interesting! :)

KXRO has been on 101.7 for some time now, so there shouldn't be an interference issue.

KJET's booster is due to the transmitter being in the Raymond area. KSWW is killed by Raymond because of the opposite, hills blocking the signal.

The KXRO repeater really gets out. I've picked them up at my grandparents' house before, and they're clearly audible around Aberdeen. The same can't be said for 94.7 KBKW. I do think Bill should consider a swap with KGHO and put KBKW on the stronger 92.7, which also really gets out.

KXRO's 101.7 makes it to Marysville, 105 miles away, during good tropo to Aberdeen and the coast. Ditto KLWA 101.3 at 1,200 watts. Both are amazing flamethrowers. I've heard KXRO's repeater, very very weak, on the Eugene OR Global Tuners node during strong tropo. Roughly 200 miles at 250w! I've tried for KPLU's 100.9 and KBKW's 94.7, as well as the CSN 88.7, with zero success at Marysville.

I'm surprised you guys are having that much success with those low power repeaters! I tried to pick them up for myself here in Gig Harbour.. and I received nothing. Of course this area is blanketed with the Seattle stations in the 60dbu range

DSP chips work very well. My Grundig G8 has a chip and it allows me to hear no splatter from local 101.5 on 101.3 or 101.7. Works well with stations without IBOC.
