If Cox decides to flip the Zone, what is left for them to try?

passtheword said:Urban gospel would probably fair the best...moving WAGG to FM. Classic country is an interesting idea, though...maybe split the Bull's audience...with 97.3 grabbing the older country listeners, and 104.7 taking in the younger ones. What is they say...divide and conquer? That sort of tactic worked years ago when "Kiss" and "Jamz" arrived on the scene and skimmed off WENN's older and younger listeners, respectively. AAA is a nice idea, but I doubt Cox would try it (we are fortunate that "Live 100.5" attempted the format, albeit for only a year and a half). Personally, I'm holding out for a soft AC format like Cox's "Dove" in Tampa. It never hurts to dream, right?![]()

I can't see it happening. Even with poor ratings, the Zone is likely to be billing way more than anything else ever tried on that signal. Sports sells, even with dismal ratings.
