Where does Huckabee land?

They probably gave a short term contract to JD, and will blow him out and run Huck 9-12n against Rush. JD was probably a placeholder in the first place.

Whats the time slot for Huckabees show in other markets?

Cumulus will feed it noon to 3 ET (9 a.m. to noon PT). Dead on against Limbaugh and opening up the possibility in at least two major markets that Cumulus stations that carry Limbaugh will dump him for Huckabee.

YAWN.

How much farther does talk radio have to sink when they assume a FAILED GOP presidential candidate will make anything against Limbaugh in his own time slot?

(And FYI, Rush's ratings in many markets aren't that spectacular either.....)

If the other Cumulus station you reference as "dumping" Rush was KSFO - I was under the impression that Limbaugh's show was pulled from KSFO by Premiere (Clear Channel), so they could run the show on their own NewsTalk 910.

It's not clear that Premiere 'pulled' Rush from KSFO to run on 910. There is word out there that Cumulus was no longer going to pay to clear the Rush show, so he and Premiere decided he might as well move over to the CC owned station. Follow the money...or in this case, leave when the money runs out.

OK - thanks for the info. I was never clear why CC was running Rush on another station anyway, except that they obviously weren't serious until now about making 910 competitive with either KSFO or the old KGO.

CC is piling up a lot of expenses for this signal-challenged AM. John Hogan will remember all the promises made and hold management accountable. p.s. So far, they have a whopping 435 "likes" on Facebook.

Rush isn't exactly kicking ass here in Las Vegas....his station (CBS cluster) is down to a 2 share, down from 3.

How many stations that were once former Rush affiliates have either flipped formats or languish at the bottom?

Only the very strongest have been able to hold on. Others, such as KVI Seattle and KGA Spokane have pretty much gone by the wayside. KSFO has a HELL of a challenge ahead. But considering Rush seems to be tanking just about everywhere these days, they should be able to find a better replacement (or at least one better than Huckabee...)

older people are going to the net and smart phone as well, Limbaugh's next contract has got to take a hit?

Look at Dr Laura, she had great ratings on KFI just a few years ago, is she still on broadcast radio.

The stream of Rush's show is the #1 most listened to. What is #2? Dr. Michael Savage. 8)

Most people prefer to listen to talkshow hosts who reinforce their beliefs; they don't want to learn anything. Most rightwing listeners are religious. Religion relies on belief, not on fact. They don't want facts; they want reinforcement of their beliefs or else their whole personal ethics collapse in confusion.

I happened to catch Rush the other day for the first time in maybe close to 10 years. Jeez...his voice has gotten shrill and he sounds quite elderly. The oxycontin has not been good to him, I guess...

I thought Hannity is #2?
