Where have all the great AM stations gone?

My family is getting ready for another great season of camping around the mid-west and I'm also looking to aircheck some stations as well. Does someone know of any great 'full service' AM stations out there? You know the ones where they have live local DJ's, news, local sports, weather etc. I know they are becomming harder to find in this era of automation. Here where I live in central Ohio is one such AM station- 1490 WJER in Dover. While I'm not a big fan of their anything goes AC format ('JER plays anything ever released as a single, good & bad), they leave you guessing what the next song will be. Also they have a cool noon hour oldies show and it was great to hear a jingle followed by "Whole Lotta Love" one day! It's nice to have a station you can tune to if you have any weather emergencies or breaking news and a live DJ is on. With the exception of the overnight and some weekend evenings, it's all local announcers! (And no I'm not related to anyone who works there :D)

So does Anybody out there know of another great full service AM? Thanks for reading!

Where are you going to be camping?

We'll be camping in Ohio, Indiana. West Virginia and maybe all the way to Virginia if the gas prices stay low.
I'm hoping I can do some great airchecking at night!
