Where have all the great jingles gone?

Where have all the great jingles gone? Long time passing. Where have all lyrics gone? Long time ago. Imagination on the air, killed by shotguns everywhere. Remember when radio was fun?

I'm with you all the way. Stations don't seem to do (or spend) as much on imaging as they used to, and I miss the variety of jingles you used to hear. It's all about the "big voice guy" (or mediocre voice guy, if the station makes a bad choice) and a few laser sound effects. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's overdone these days. Over the years, WLS and Z95 come to my mind as stations that had some of the better jingles in Chicago. Even WBBM/780's jingle package still sticks in my head.
