Since the pulse of 93.7 K Rock has lfatlined and the station is going to the Macyuppie, Paulsen, Miller and company, I thought I would post this about one of my favorite people on that station.

I used to work graveyard shift in Pittsburgh for one of the many hotel chains. When I would wake up to get ready for work, Bob was on air. I would listen to his show almost religiously because even though he would discuss matters that other people want to stay completely away from, at least he never backed down and he never retracted anything that he would say. Bob would not shy away from talking about issues that most people would simply ignore. How many times do you hear any on-air people on music formatted stations in Pittsburgh or any market discuss issues such as law enforcement, the war in Iraq, drug abuse, child abuse, etc. Bob was not only the type of radio personality that could come up with some sort of clever parody song or jingle for a ficticious product, but Bob also could come up with topics and issues that made the listener think. Bob wanted to know what the listener was thinking. How many radio people out there today even give a rat's about what the listener thinks?

Since his departure from K Rock, I have heard everything from Bob going to work in another market to Bob taking a behind-the-scenes job somewhere and being completely done with radio. I hope the latter is not the case because I believe that Bob has all of the potential to do something huge in the business. I might be the only person on this site that believes what I have just said, but I can guarantee that I am not alone in this belief.
