Where in the New England area is DYLAN DREYER????

A

According to the promos on WHDH-7 ("The News Station")...meterologist, Dylan Dreyer will be in different locations during the week of March 28th. [This is a local spin-off on the "WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MATT LAUER" feature which will be running concurrently on THE TODAY SHOW].

I wonder? What would it take to bribe the Channel 7 news department to get Dylan to come to Kennebunk, Arundel, or some other secluded location in Southern Maine? ???

I guess I wouldn't mind meeting the lady? Lord knows, I've called and emailed the WHDH-7 News Department for an autographed picture. And yes....I'M STILL WAITING! :(

If you look really closely in the promo, one of the backgrounds she was standing in front of was Portland Head Light.

I'm guessing you meant to say either April or May. Otherwise, you are crap out of luck. Or...maybe they KNEW your obsessiveness of her and that you'd try to crash Dylan's liveshot so they already taped her spot in your area and are only now promoting it. ;D ;D :D

THANKS FOR YOUR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT....NOT!

Hey argy, there's a riddle on Dylan's morning weather blog hinting at where she'll be Monday morning...in case you wanna take a shot at tracking her down and meeting her. Just remember not to act like crazy stalker guy in person ;)

Hi MikeyBos...

First...THANKS for a sane suggestion...as opposed to the insane one offered by WMC2006.

I caught the clue (as to Dylan's whereabouts this coming Monday)...during Friday's WHDH/7 Weathercast. I also caught the promo which featured Portland Headlight in the background.

For everybody reading this...I'm interested in the lady strictly as a friend! I admire her work, her appearance and have also contacted the WHDH-7 Newsroom for an autographed picture. I've also written directly to Dylan.

Sometimes she responds, but there are times when her meteorological work takes priority---which is AS IT SHOULD BE!

Thanks once again for your response.

Haha...I think we're all just pulling your chain a little. You are just a teeny weeny bit smitten with her! ;) Even as a gay guy, I can see the obvious attraction...Dylan is hot and smart and she has a great personality on TV! I'd like to be friends with her too!

We know you would simply like to meet her but in 2008, innocent fans calling and e-mailing are looked upon as potentially dangerous.

Just an update...Dylan got to wear plenty of jewelry during the 2 hour gig this morning. Anne Alred was more than a little envious!

But the truth of the matter is...I THINK DYLAN'S SMILE was brighter than any 'bauble' or 'bracelet' she got to try on! ;)

Anybody else see the item in Friday's Inside Track where she said that Dice-K signed his name inside the Green Monster in Chinese?

To finalize this once and for all...

I think the WHERE IN NEW ENGLAND IS DYLAN DREYER title was a misnomer. All 5 of Dylan's appearances were made in Massachusetts. Forget about the fact that there are 5 other New England states!

Granted...short-distance mystery locations gave Dylan the opportunity to get back to WHDH-7 and be present for the 12pm newshour....which is fine.

Just to clear the air to the few who seem to think I'm some sort of a Dylan Dreyer Stalker---I'm probably old enough to be her DAD! However, I do think her on-air skills are excellent. I'm sure I'm not the only viewer who feels this way?

It's too bad that WHDH-NEWS 7 couldn't take 2 minutes to send a picture of the lady...but I guess their promotion department is too busy chasing fires in Lowell and covering traffic accidents in Dedham? ???

For a major news operation, you'd think they could spare 60 seconds to have Dylan autograph her photo and place it in a manila envelope? ::)

#1. Well I'm old enough to be the Dad of an 18 year old. It doesn't mean that I still wouldn't have sex with one. You probably would too! So your argument falls short there

#2. Some stations just don't send out photos. Maybe WHDH doesn't either.

#3. Maybe Dylan is actually freaked out by you. Just find a photo online and print the thing out. Then put it in a nice frame. You'll get through life just fine.

Argy, I think you are a fine contributor to Radio-Info, an excellent writer, you seem to have a sparkling personality, and you get along with everyone.

But I'm not about to start a writing campaign over the next several years asking for an autographed 8x10 glossy photo of you. Mostly because I don't want one :p

But also it would seem like I was stalking you. You'd probably get tired of receiving letters from me, alert the authorities, and have me taken in for questioning and possibly even sue me for harassment. Can you say "Uma Thurman"?

You' probably also block my emails. Which is probably what Channel 7 and/or Dylan have done...blocking emails from you, I mean.

Not that I'm saying you are harassing her. But maybe they got tired of getting emails from you saying "Dylan, you have exceptional on-air skills and may I have an autographed photo?". They are probably saying to themselves "Geez, this guy needs to go to Kmart and buy a clue. You'd think after not responding to his first 545 emails/letters, he would have gotten the hint that we aren't sending him a photo."

I'm just saying it's time to end the please-send-me-a-photo campaign and move on to your next fixation. And, hey, maybe if you STOP asking for a photo, they might actually send one.

:)

It always amazes me how radio, television...or the media in general...is constantly LOOKING FOR THE WORST in others?

My request for Dylan's picture was sincere with no ulterior motive. But I guess a news operation as large as WHDH-7 is too busy to keep their viewers HAPPY? Sorry, but I can't buy into the theory that a station willing to spend thousands of dollars on reporters can't come up with a press kit...or at the very least...an autographed photo??? ???

Unfortunately argy, it's a lowest common denominator world. In my younger days, I was the weather producer for a fairly attractive meteorologist (who now has a syndicated garden show). Although we didn't have too many nutjobs stalking her (there were one or two), it was always a worry and she was fiercely protective of her privacy...out of necessity. I can assure you that if I saw a group of inquiries such as yours, they'd be redlined as suspicious. That was in 1988 or so and I am sure that such inquiries would be seen as even more potentially threatening today.

Though it may not be your intent, anyone who seems a little TOO anxious to garner attention from an attractive (to you) TV personality is going to be treated with caution. Sadly, it is a symptom of the world in which we live and you would do well to keep in mind that for every 3 guys with good intentions, there's one with not-so-pure thoughts.

Put yourself in her shoes and give her a break about this. Sadly, there are just too many psychos out there for her to open herself up to a potentially dangerous situation. Trust me, they are out there. So she may be a very nice woman....but she's also smart enough to ignore anything that seems like it might be creepy. Best to give it a rest.

And, watch the blonde female met on Univision named Paola - wow, now SHE is a babe!! :p

Hi BRNout!

THANKS SO MUCH for a response that made logical sense...instead of some of the earlier ones that accused me of being "a stalker!"

Most of my broadcast associates (those who left the business along with the ones who are barely surviving) know that I'm an honest professional with very few 'axes' to grind! And I can completely see your point from Dylan's perspective!

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my earlier post.
