Ed Donohue died a tragic death in the Billings, Montana radio market when, while airing a 32-year-old episode of "Chickenman" on August 29th of 2007 - in which the Wonderful White-Winged Weekend Warrior fearlessly struck him in the head with a wayward wing - Mr. Donohue fell backward into an enormous stack of "GoldMine" CD's which he had been organizing since 1999.
His loving family was remorseful until Donohue's eldest son discovered that a complete index of every Goldmine cut ever released is available online and downloadable at ABCGoldmine.com.
"This is good news!", said the son, making no mention of his father's demise, nor the name Jim Merkel, whom Ed worked with closely even until he moved to Cheyenne in 2008 and died again due to "Consolidation". "Now we know why his show was so popular for so long! Goldmine! Either that or his on-air chemistry with Jackie."
Seriously. Ed is now a cashier at The Home Depot in Bozeman, Montana. He spends his time on the job waiting for customers while mentally critiqueing Bozeman radio stars and knows, deep in his heart, that he's better than most of them. He misses radio but is content to be close to his kids, who spend weekends with him listening to old K-Bear airchecks and episodes of Chickenman, waiting for their Child Support payments.
