KIID'S TRANSMITTER SITE WAS VANDALIZED TWICE DURING THE WEEK OF JANUARY 30, 2017 AND ALSO SET ON FIRE. ITS TRANSMITTERS WERE DESTROYED AND THE COPPER RADIALS OF ITS GROUND SYSTEM WERE STOLEN. THE STATION WAS OFF THE AIR AS OF THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2017. IT IS BELIEVED THAT HOMELESS PERSONS LIVING IN THE PARK AREA ADJACENT TO THE TRANSMITTER SITE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS.

yep, vandals and copper theft, etc always been an issue at that site. I used to hate getting that call in the middle of the night: "we're off the air, and the building alarm is going off"
