Brett must have been let go. Apparently, he was at WGCL as of a couple of weeks ago as Rodney Ho noted. He was a part-timer anyway from what I understand.
Of course, given the news of Mark Hyman returning to regular reporting at WAGA, there is the remote possibility that Brett could be returning to Good Day Atlanta. But I think a few bridges were burned (the exact reason was never disclosed - Noise Corp. doesn't like bad PR over firings).
