I was just reading the news about Eddie Hubbard, what a sad thing to hear...

What's the news about Chuck Brinkman????

Linda has been sitting in for him for over a month, is he alright???

I think Jim Zippo will be taking over for Chuck, to be replaced later with Don Crockett, then KAAM will flip to Smooth Jazz, with stunting that consists of birds chirping for the first week.

CB should return to KAAM towards the middle of the month.

KAAM

Mike, are you kidding? Is KAAM really going to smooth jazz? And I also note that it is no longer listed as a Crawford Broadcasting station. Was it sold?

KAAM is changing to "Big Band Caravan" with "Al Hams Music of your Wife on weekends. Mike will be doing evenings.

Thank goodness. Station owners these days are so prone to flying off into space chasing some new tangent that I'm never surprised when they crank up 4 days of "I Saw Mommie Kissine Santa Claus" so they can really tank the ratings before they start some new wang brain format.

As if anyone cares.

At the top of the hour they now say "DJRD Broadcasting" before the station ID. I don't know what that is.

Trevor Ley has been filling in on a few afternoons for Linda Martin filling in for Chuck Brinkman.

I listen to KAAM a lot during the week at work. It's the only station that won't drive me nuts with repetition. KAAM's playlist is like a box of chocolates...

DJRD Broadcasting, LLC. It's a licensee for a translator that was granted by the FCC in February.

KAAM

DJRD Broadcasting is the company owned by Don Crawford Jr., the son of "former" owner Don Crawford, Sr. Reports said he "purchased" KAAM for $8 million and owns two other stations. Crawford Sr. still owns about a dozen stations under his name.

Is Don Crawford (Jr., I would suppose) the same person who jocked
on the "KOOL Gold" SMN satellite format back in the 1990s?

No. Don Jr. is a member of the lucky gene pool.

So exactly what does that mean? (I notice Crawford Broadcasting no longer lists it as one of their stations.)
