Where is Grace, Queen of the Cockomamies today. And don't say Forest Lawn....;-)

I met the guy that was "Grace" at one of the Media Gang luncheons. He said he started when he was a teenager spoofing Jerry on WMEX. At first Jerry didn't know what to make of the caller...didn't know if it was real or not.

After awhile Jerry and the guy became friendly...and Jerry encouraged him to continue calling...I think he(grace) kept calling right up until the end.

I think he's still around.

According to the Jerry Williams bio Burning Up the Air by Tolz & Elman, Grace was played by
Bob Ness and it says Ness was among those who attended a dinner to raise money for a scholarship
in Jerry's name, in 2004.

Correct, Grace is Bob Ness who works or worked at Poloroid. He started Grace when he was about 15 on Jerry's show. Very quick wit. The stations should have hired him on a regular basis.

Grace? Where she be? She be right here. However not of the cockamamie variety.

Bob Ness appeared on WMEX last night with Bob Katzen--Jerry Williams tribute--doing the Queen of the Cockamamies character (malapropisms--
"It's a business doing pleasure with you, Katzie!")
Insert Grace Curley joke here.
He said he based the voice on a radio host who kind of
sounded like an old lady, calling in to Jerry's
show for decades. "I was 13 when I started (at WHIL)."
He said he worked for WHIL 1430 Medford (/Everett) and "later the FM (107.9) went on and
they did country".

Jerry:"you say you have sex on top of the washing machine--are you a Speed Queen?"
