where is he this time???

He also missed the Cowboys' post game show, Donovan filled in for him. It must be bad cause how do you miss the show for such a big game. I have never seen a grown man take so much sick time.

Seriously. I was wondering the same thing. You know, as much as KTCK benefits from its listeners, they sure as heck take them for granted. Same with Rhyner (why is this surname dead anyway... haha) with his mom being sick.

It's not our business, but at least reset every once in a while and let folk know someone is missing. It's the proverbial 800 lb. gorilla. Geesh.

Is it me or does Gregg take more days off since he admitted his "addiction". Not to make light of a serious deal...If he's having real health problems, I feel bad for the guy. If he's pulling a Mark Matthis and secluding himself off for a lost weekend, then I dont.

Seems like it started last week with a lost cell phone and he called into the show on his OnStar. I think he may have gone walkabout during the show.

Same thing came up over on DallasDigest. One guy posted this:

there was a day recently where The HL was on for just over an hour and Greggo was eating. I complained to Cat and he replied and said it really ticked him off too and that "It will be addressed and something will be done". Well, I'm sure huggie bear got all pissy and told Cat that he's the "star" and can do whatever he wants....

I remember thinking to myself last Friday how these guys can show up late all the time. I mean, if you've got to be on the air at 2:50 or so, wouldn't you be there by 2:15 or so and not constantly show up late? I wonder if Cat got tired of it.

I think the bigger point is the lil' nancy and his quote... Droopy, are you telling me that some tool actually called Cat and complained about Greggo's broadcasting with his mouth full of food? Are you kidding me?

Nope. Those are his words. I thought that was a little weird, too.

Now, I remember emailing Rhyner once (a few years back) and he replied with "Take your comments about the show and shove it up your ass" and I did forward that to the program director. I've never emailed a show since then. I emailed cause I thought they wanted audience feedback. I was very wrong.

I think the bigger story there is that he replied in the first place ;D

Heres the thing about Mike, The little Ticket has been his baby from they get-go and he has issues with people suggesting how he runs it. In alot of ways, hes like Russ Martin when it comes to "running the show".

I understand that. But it was a sports opinion....

Then thats a old grey wolf of another color man....Naw, he thinks he knows it all when it comes to sports as well..Personally, I think he's biding his time until he retires...

Well then he should own Coop for afternoon drive and Skip for mornings. If that was his idea of a winning line-up for launch, then he can't claim to be much of a programmer. The Ticket, just like many radio success stories, mostly benefitted from right moves that were made accidentally. Rush Limbaugh even admits that his best bits are usually accidents.

You're right as usual Ebola.

The Ticket has had about a dozen years of success because they consistently make the inadvertent right move.
I wonder if the copycat Ticket stations have perfected the art of fortuitous blunders?

And you are overly sensitive as usual, firsttime. My point is that the bread and butter of today's Ticket--the Musers and the Hardline--were gap-fills in the original incarnation of the station. Is that genius programming?

Without the complete failure of KLIF, the 10 to noon slot never would have been filled with Norm.

And, Corby, who makes the absence of the Hammer nearly unnoticeable this week wasn't hired because a programmer pegged him as the final part that would complete the Hardline show.

Bob and Dan weren't exactly the first hires for the noon slot either.

So Rhynes can chill the ef out if he's appointed himself the mastermind of the thing.

Well, great... now that a serious concern about Greggo's whereabouts has become the "pundit showcase on KTCK," may I?

Corby is a good broadcaster, but let's tap those breaks about his genius bits overshadowing Greg's absence. When friendly Kooby is gone, posts are creeping because of him. Hammer is one of the true gems of that station, and for those dills not to care what their audience thinks during his absence is pathetic. I would venture to say the only reason 25% of the audience keeps listening is waiting to Greg to come back.

Ebola, you are dead on about the accidental mishap that is the Ticket. Remember the late night "bobstermshow"? If certain people didn't completely suck on-air or lose their cool with management, BaD radio wouldn't have a good spot. Speaking of KLIF, can you imagine KTCK with FISH instead of Norm? ;D

I'm with you, veritas. I meant to compliment Corby more than diss Greg. Although I think the show survives fine the way it is this week, and has a really tough time when Greg is in but Mike is out.

Very few success stories are immediate winners. It's not that they get it right the first time. It's that they're smart enough not to mess with a good thing when success begins to come. Intent or accident, but usually both.

Here's hoping Greg just has the flu.
