Where is Jubal?

I have been listening to Brooke and Jubal on 100.3 and have noticed since January all their bits are repeats. Just recently, Young Jeffery has been doing the Second Date Update. Jubal seems to be MIA! Anyone know what is going on with the show?

What makes it difficult is this is a syndicated show, and stations have contracted for a specific show. If something in the title or lineup changes, it basically voids the contract.

But I imagine affiliates are also asking questions.

Don't know never listened to the show, but you do have to remember it is a Seattle based show, and can't imagine what time their show airs out there since Seattle is 2 hours behind Chicago, can't be a vacation if he has been missing in action for the first 3v months of the year.

They have to air the show since they picked it up, the city of Seattle is an interesting city to do a syndicated morning radio show, and assuming that both hosts are from Seattle, as you would think a syndicated morning show would originate from New York, But is that a written rule that a morning show actually ahas to be aired live n a timezone.

Tuned in this morning and no mention of the Brooke and Jubal show; They are still listed on the website of 100.3.
Most of their bits have been repeats since January with Young Jeffery filling in on occasion for Jubal.

I wonder why Robert Feder even took the time to fill column on this, since this is not even a Chicago based show,

A show carried on a local station is a "local" show to listeners because they hear it on their local radio receiver.

Do you think, back in the day, that Feder did not cover Stern when he was on local broadcast radio? Of course he did.

either case should somebody that goes AWHOL for whatever amount of time like Kathy Hart did in Chicago with her MIX co-workers that prompted her to eventually be fired from the station.

Jubal is not AWOL. The syndicator knows exactly where he is. They are running only pre-records of his bits and have been doing that for many months now. All they did was formalize his replacement... since he had been gone for a long, long time anyway.

So should i also Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartman, and even Rush Limbaugh as Chicago shows even through they are all syndicated shows that airs here even through none of these shows are based here. Sorry to pick a fhitm, but he still was AWOL since listeners didn't even know what happened, even if the syndicator did, why did you think this post was started in the first place?

The whole "let's pretend Jubal didn't bolt" charade is a textbook example of how big radio has almost ZERO respect for its listeners.

Although, I must say, has there EVER been a dorkier stage name than "Jubal Fresh" in commercial radio? Good grief.

Let me guess - he adopted that phony last name to prevent competing stations from using the term "Fresh" in their branding. Am I right?

Uh, no. He adopted the name after he got married a couple years ago. Personal, family reasons (including abuse) is why he dropped ‘Flagg’ as his last name. (Went into great detail on his Facebook page.)

Ah, I follow now. I appreciate the explanation; thank you.

(If it were me, I would've chosen a less corny stage name, though.)

That is a horribly blanket statement that indicts every one of us who works in radio.

The Jubal case was very different from most. There are internal, and perhaps personal, issues that took place between the employer and employee. There were obviously reasons why they were not made public as the personal life of public figures is something nobody has a "right" to know

This is no different than cases I have seen in the past. One example, long ago in Miami, involved a person who had to take time off for rehab and recovery for a mental illness and drug addiction. The station wanted him back, and he was on an extended "work-study leave". And that was all they said. I knew the details, and thought that it was handled in a very dignified and kind manner.

At least in the Miami instance - the station said *something.*

In the Jubal instance, the audience was left in the dark for months on end. That is completely inexcusable! At least acknowledge the man's absence. There is no need to go into specifics.

And, yes, I do believe many in positions of power have little respect for the audience.
