At 440 Satisfaction it says "Lee Baby is retired and living in Walnut Creek, California collecting an AFTRA pension and Social Security..."

I remember Lee on WKYC/1100, Cleveland, in 1968. He replaced Jack Armstrong(using the air name of "Big Jack" because WIXY owned the rights to Jack Armstrong) in the evenings.

I worked the morning show with Lee Baby at KOOL FM in the early 90s. He left and was back in San Fran. Owned a penthouse there. He was really an original. Even had a movie loosely based on his character. Forget the name but it was about an out of work disc jockey named Lee Baby Sims played by Tom Waits if I remember correctly. Another interesting critter.

just an update on the Tom Waites movie in which he plays "Lee Baby Sims"....an out of work disc jockey....you can check out scenes at you tube....movie's called "Down By Law".

Lee went from KCBQ, San Diego to KRLA in 1971...as Lee "Baby" Sims. He moved to KROQ (again as Lee Baby, but using Doc Frail occasionally) in 1973. After that was a stint in Miami, followed by a return to L.A., first to KMET, and then back to KRLA as "Doc Frail". If I recall correctly, he used the "Doc Frail" character in his 1971 run at KRLA for weekend shows.
