Where is Meg Griffin?

Without any notice to the public, and seemingly impossible to verify by a simple internet search, Meg seems to have left WUMB
Can someone out here verify?

btw is this the same person who was on a doc. Ch 2 was running last night...it was about rock and roll DJs (not much mention of Boston but they did show a bit of Woo Woo, J.J. Jackson of BCN etc)
and they had one woman on named Meg Griffin. Not sure if same one.

Yep, one and the same. She got her start with some guy named Howard who went on to some kind of radio career at WRNW 107.1 in Westchester NY. Was also at WNEW and WXRK for awhile, and WFUV in New York.

Incidentally, Meg would be on the same station as that Howard guy on WXRK in New York during msot of the time they were a classic rock station (1985-96).

Their website now lists former WBOS DJ George Knight, who had been doing fill-ins on WUMB, in Griffin's now-former evening slot.

Guess she's now satellite only, phoning in a couple of daily shifts to Sirius XM. Voicetracking from home and being paid like you're actually putting in a full day's work ... nice work if you can get it.

Scrubbing the website profile when a "on-air personality" leaves under less than amicable conditions is typical WUMB style. The same happened with the Barnes Newbury and Brian Quinn departures.

Read "End of the Highway", Apr 25, 2010 - http://notlobmusic.blogspot.com/2010/04/end-of-highway.html
& "Brian Quinn, WUMB program director, "laid off"", Nov 12, 2009 - http://notlobmusic.blogspot.com/2009/11/brian-quinn-wumb-program-director-laid.html

Related to Joan Anderman's "Finding her next wave" (5/4/10), the powderpuff article that announced Meg's coming to WUMB, the the Globe would do the right thing by asking WUMB management why Meg has been removed from the WUMB airwaves and website, and publishing their answer. The Globe has proven itself a steadfast fan of WUMB management when it comes to profiling new hires, but has a proven track record of turning a blind eye (Brian Quinn, Barnes Newbury and now Meg Griffin) when hosts hastily depart.

to those attempting to stir the pot, plain and simple Meg Griffin resigned Friday before last...couldn't continue to commit to WUMB due to Sirius and future travel commitments...that is all...

Don't know why a New Yorker with no connection to Hub radio or folk music would be on WUMB anyway. George Knight has the old WBOS history. UMB is the logical last stop for the old BOS crowd. Having George on in the morning would be an improvement...Liz Solar? Kevin Malvey? they must have better things to do.

Meg does have connections with folk (and folkish AAA) music. In addition to playing rock on WXRK, Sirius/XM, etc... she was also on WFUV in NYC for years, another Public Radio folk/roots-leaning AAA station. She has also done other folk/roots types of programming on Sirius in the past, and has done a lot of record and promotions work for folk and roots music artists. (The one time I met her was at a Newport Folk Festival).

George is a good AAA DJ, but in my opinion, would not be an improvement over longtime Boston area folk host Dave Palmater who is currently in that slot.
