Where is Terry Duffy? What is he doing now?

I worked for Terry back in late 1978 at WKMX...Just wondered what is he doing now? Does anyone Know?

Bill Morgan

He & Mit Kirkland own & operate Scenic Productions. a video house, located in Dothan.

Increasing rumors are to expect him back into the radio game after his non-compete with
Styles/Magic expires (09/07 iirc)

Solid Gold! It's good to hear from you Mr. Morgan! Ran into Terry at a social thing over the weekend and much to the disappointment of some and joy to others presently operating in Dothan, Terry didn't even want to talk about radio. Seemed like a very different Duffie to me, he had no clue of the shape of the market, said he'd quit listening to anything but public radio and HIS Radio (94.3). All he wanted to talk about were the banking business and the really good/stable people involved and the video production business. If I recall the 25 minute conversation he crammed into 4 minutes (he hasn't changed completely) he was talking about video projects about to be bought by CMT, VH1, MTV, Discovery etc.

He could be a pain sometimes but he sure did put an excellent product on the air, provided excellent community support and made the other operators react professionally. Like him or not it sounded to me like he's put radio behind him for good. Just my opinion but if that's the case everybody has lost in this one.

Mit's an old radio personality from the days of WDIG when AM ruled! Looks like Scenic has become the old folkes home for radio people.

Mr. Bill, are you still in the business?

SMOKESCREEN ALERT! He's a sly guy.

Known of him since I was in school at Auburn and he was a DJ at WJHO in Opelika.
It is in his blood. Sure he is loving his video & banking, but trust me, the only prescription
for the fever he has is MoreRadio!

Yeah...I'm still in radio...I'm the PD of WKKR-FM in Opelika....Do you have an email and /or phone number for Terry Duffy...I really would enjoy talking to him again

[EDIT] Scenic Productions. His home number is also listed in the Dothan directory.
Prudent it would not be for me to list his email or cell phone.

Bill....were not you in the Gump forever? What prompted the move to Opelika?

[EDIT-privacy concerns. I recommend that users utilize our PM system on the site if they need to pass on phone numbers. This still allows you to pass information without putting it on the site where search engines can take snapshots]

He indeed forced a professionalism on the market that had virtually disappeared with the the decline
of AM radio (woof & wdig). Both of those stations were very professional when AM was king and they were
loaded with remarkable talent.
Love him or hate him....he made this a better radio market.
