Where is the overnight live programming?

Why is there so little live nighttime programming in LA? What went away, the audience or the advertisers? I remember some great radio overnights and now it’s all filler. :(

Coast to Coast has a higher AQH at midnight than almost any FM station at 7pm. Don't know if I'd call that filler.

In the Winter, 2006 Arbitron in the 7 PM hour, there were 11 FMs with more audience than what Noory has in the Midnight hour. The first three or four in that hour have more than twice the KFI audience at midnight.

Perhaps I'm misreading something - C2C still has a very high AQH in its late night hours, no?

Perhaps I was adding in KFI's Riv-SB #s... I'll have to look.

Adding the IE numbers to KFI also requires adding the LA FM numbers, too.

With the IE numbers, the 7 PM combined numbers show 10 FMs ahead of FKI's midnight numbers.

Yes but C2C is #1 overnights.

That is like finding reward in knowing you have the only gas station in Desert Junction.

Not having local live talent in overnights is nothing new in LA since the beancounters @ CC & CBS took over, and got addicted to syndicated programming.

Keep in mind that KIIS had no live overnight programming for well over a decade after sacking 'Brother' Bill McKinney.

That was WELL over a decade ago!!!
