Where to advertise

I have lurked here for years. Maybe I can get some advice. I own a small service biz. I service from andover to marlboro to needham. I am thinking of radio spots to supplement my print ads. I am worried that someone from outside my service area hears the ad and wants me to go to maybe, Nahant, for service. I guess I take that risk.
But My question is with what radio station should I advertise with? Mine is a carpet cleaning biz.

I don't want to say the problem with radio advertising is....., but the problem with radio advertising is once you start it, you have to stay with it in order for it to be effective.

The other problem is if you want to be on the big players it costs huge money, compared to being on a bunch of smaller stations for less money per spot.

Andover/ Merrimack Valley you might want to look into WCAP, where you could buy a months worth of spots for what one of the big players would charge you for a day. It's better to be heard 50 times on a station that will deliver people than once on a station that isn't going to bring one call.

WCAP publishes their rate card, you can take a peek at it and see if it meets your budget.
