Where to go from here?

Hey folks, I need a tad of help here. I'm a producer for a Automobile maintenance/care call-in talk show known as "Car-Connection" on a local 50,000 watt am powerhouse owned by a decent sized radio group(that at this point shall go un-named). The show does pretty well with a steady stream of listeners and callers but the hosts are looking to get this show out further then just local; but we all really have no idea what to do. Just a small disclaimer, it is a payed programming show in that the hosts use their sponsors to pay for the airtime on the station. We really do want to get this thing out there because it is a great product that is quite fun and entertaining with weekly guests, trivia, prizes, and zany antics that all pertain to the automobile. Any Ideas/help?

Buy the book Coast to Coast: The Radio DJ's Syndication How-To Guide. The book is very helpful.

Hey stratace05,

Yeah, buy the book (it's my book, lol)...thanks for the plug snailboy!

But the first thing you need to find out before moving forward, step one, is: is your show successful on your station, and just how successful is it? Does it out-perform the station, how does it rank, is it #1 in any key demos, etc? That's the first step in determining whether your show has the ability to be successfully syndicated.

A small step could be to take a look at the part 15 community. There are dozens of these small stations peppered all over the country. Some of which are very successful. and they generally accept programming at no cost to the shows.
