Where Will Adult Hits Show Up?

I think maybe Infinity may blow up KYMX, currently 8th in the ratings, just like when CBS-FM (which was 8th in the ratings in NYC) was Jacked, and lose its audience to Y92.
Edited by PassDutch on 08/02/05 09:08 PM.

HIGHLY unlikely, since KYMX was #4 in the key adult demo, and #1 or #2 in their key female demos in the last measurable report. Plus, the format fits within the Infinity six-station cluster perfectly, targeting women and adults while their other stations target men, young men, young adults and young women. Plus, the #8 ranking you describe is for Persons 12+, and media buyers generally do not care what your 12+ numbers are; they want to know what your Adult numbers are and how many active, qualified consumers listen to your station. 12+ numbers contain kids 12-17 and listeners 55+, who for the most part have already spent a lifetime accumulating what advertisers are selling.

I was actually more surprised that PassDutch didn't say that KYMX would be flipping to Hurban!

Interesting info though. It does seem that KHWD would be the likely Jack station. Does Howard have any ratings in its targets other than AM Drive?

If not Infinity, any other group? Entravision?? Entercom?? CC?? What are your thoughts on this speculative issue?

Thanks!

KHWD did not have a good book...The numbers for Stern's show were not anything to write home about. In the past, they have been a top-rated station during morning drive simply because of their high TSL, and not necessarily the show's cume. Your guess is as good as mine whether or not they will become a "Jack" formatted station in the near future. But...that's radio.

Maybe blow KWOD for "Charlie," 'cuz no one would stand a AAA-leaning alternative station. KHWD is now Sacramento's one & only TRUE alternative.
Edited by PassDutch on 08/02/05 11:48 PM.
