This is a great reason to deregulate and de-socialize AM. The government should sell off its ownership of frequencies and finally permit private ownership. Uncle Sam may not get much money for his "air" but at least it will go to the private sector. This bull about licenses and government permission to operate a radio station will go the way of Communism in the Soviet Union.
I am talking about Capitalism here, not anarchy. Private ownership of frequencies means that trespassers will be prosecuted. Owners would control the air, not the government. When it is shown to be a success on AM, then FM will be ready to go private. Maybe it can be done before radio completely dies out.
