Where's Boomer?

Boomer of Magic 96.1 fame was heard often earlier this year on the WBT Traffic Reports. It occurred to me this morning that I haven't heard him lately on 'BT.

What's he doing these days? Does anybody know?

Saw him in the hall over at 1220 last week. Spent about a half hour laughing over the good ole days at Magic.

Those were the “good old days” indeed! I spent nearly-three very-enjoyable months in Charlotte in late-summer/fall 1999. I remember arriving there right at the beginning of a 10-day string of 100-degree days in late July. I found Magic 96 my first afternoon and Boomer was on. He was joking that; “It’s so hot I had to drive with the window down AND A/C blasting”. I was doing the same. I rarely-missed an afternoon listening to him on that terrific station!

No answer here, but I see on the newly unveiled WDYT website that the aforementioned Mr. Boomer Von Cannon is now the Promotion Director for Danny Fontana's new radio station.

Best of luck to you, Boomer!

Boomer we miss you in Greensboro .... you are the most professional DJ I ever had the pleasure of working with .... so glad you did not throw in the towel .... RADIO is your Biz.
