Where's Garry Meier?

I loved listening to the WGN-FM radio show that Gary Meier was hosting. I listened at work everyday.
But I heard that WGN fired him.
Is this true?

News of eventual shutdown of 87.7 and the online-only station (WGN.FM) announced on 11/20/2014:
(includes the departure of Garry Meier)

and Jonathon Brandmeier responds, saying that he's trying to work out a future deal with Tribune to at least use one of their studios for his online show:

Garry's most recent sidekick Elton Jim...what's his story? was he in radio prior to being teamed up with Garry?

And where is Roe Conn? Wouldn't it be great if those two got together again?

I see them now.. both men ..about a quarter of a mile apart with their arms stretched out as their eyes meet..... in a field running towards each other...MUSIC UP.. they run into each other.. hug...fall down and roll around in the grassy field. Two men outstanding in their field ..Meier and Conn on the LUP.. Where Legends live!

Screw Roe Conn. He's a has-been.
We want Steve & Garry.

I think since Garry has been on his own..he probably wouldn't want to do a show with Steve. But it would be fun if they did. I wish they would do a TV show..OMG..I love the old clips of them on you tube. Greetings from Graceland..LOL

His podcasts are great. It's as close as you will get to a live show. he does five a week, three are free. Only missing link is the listener interaction and the immediacy of doing live radio. Garry belongs on the air. It's a shame there is no place for him on Chicago radio. He would have been so good on WLS.

I agree with you on his podcasts but it is better to listen to him on a pre-recorded show then not at all. And on his first podcast he mentioned about possibly having having phone calls, but the only way that is going to happen if a listen gets in contact with the show and his producer(s) make arrangements to call the listeners to get him on, since I don't think that Garry Meier is going to announce his taping schedule. But he still does answer e-mails whether personally or read them off on his show. But radio stations already has their schedules set, and the only way he can get any time slot, if he is hired by a radio station and they find a way to make room for him. Much like how how Steve Dahl got his afternoon gig on WLS, they made room for him by canceling Roe & Roeper, and WGN also had to make room for him on there schedule by making a few moves of their own. Since there would be no way that they would have Bill Leff, Wendy Synder and Roe Conn the three of them all hosting afternoon drive on WGN Radio. I listen to the free ones, so naturally I won't be paying to listen to the ones that you have to pay to get.
