Does anyone know what happened to Gerry V, late of 1280 The Sports Monster? All of a sudden he's gone

He still does the NBA.The day after he left the sports station he was given the afternoon drive on News Radio 1000 KTOK. He's on from 5-7pm.Talks about sports and everything else.I recently heard him on the National Fox Sports Show.Have heard him on that show several times.Word is he'll be back on the air in New Orleans when the Hornets return.
 
Pretty much following the Hornets where ever they go as he had said in a TP article about a year ago... Now just wondering how he will be coming back to NOLA on the radio?

I understand the team returns to New Orleans in April.Its my undertanding that the teams contract expires with CC New Orleans in April.You are correct he may not return to 1280 but i've been told conversations have taken place with some regional VP's about a project. Another station perhaps ? A friend in the business passed along that he will continue is show with CC Midwest even when he returns to New Orleans.

Any shot at Hornets on WWL?
 
Do any of you think that CC fired Gerry V and the other people to fund WRNO? I know they're spending a lot of money on WRNO "talent" (I'm using that word loosely) and sales are not going too well.
It seemed like Gerry was just starting to get some traction.
Any thoughts?
 
I was told he was offered a show on WRNO.The money with the Hornets plus his new afternoon drive show
combined is a nice package. WRNO is paying cheap ( Monica at WWL turned them down)A CC person told me that the company wants to keep him in the mix someplace.
Thats why the other show offer came so quickly.Also there are some folks at WWL that want him there.
To use a quote from a sales rep " we could sell the heck out of him".Lets stay tuned.
