If he's so "overtalented", what was he doing working for metro? Or was he just overtalented for what he was doing AT metro?
Which if he was overtalented for that, what exactly WAS he talented at? No offense, I like the guy, but he's my definition of a journeyman radio talent. He's good, and, well, he's good. And that's about it...
And has anybody considered that the reason traffic people are "underpaid" is because they really make little difference to a station. It's great if you get a good one who meshes well with the jocks and all, but as long as they're marginally competent (IOW they know how to pronounce road names and can talk relatively quickly) isn't that all that matters?
No offense to any traffic reporters out there, but I'm tuning in to listen to Kidd or Chapman or Stern or Russ or the Hardline or whoever...I don't really care about some guy (or girl) who comes on for 30 seconds and reads accident reports...
And if I was a GM, I'm certainly not investing a lot of money in such a minor part of the overall sound of the station...
Again, unless they're an integral part of a show (i.e. Suzie Humphries back in the day) I'd 'underpay' traffic reporters too...
I mean, we all realize that most station play more imaging in an hour than they do traffic in an hour...right?

Wrong Little1...
A good traffic reporter makes ALL the difference in the world. I just heard some new female on i think WBAP and she was definately a step above from all the others i hear. John Wolf was very good along with his co-workers Monty and Laura. Some of the people i hear are just awful and how they got and remain on the air is beyond me. Maybe you're right pd's don't care who's on.
