Where's Liz Luke?

I was listening to WDYT "THINK RADIO" this morning on my way to a cup of coffee and noticed that Liz Luke was not on with Jon Robinson. There was another female voice (unidentified while I was listening). Also, I noticed that a production piece mention Robinson only.

Anybody know the story?

I also got a charge out of the promo featuring Danny Fontana telling how he ended up buying the station claiming that he didn't have 950,000 cents, much less the $950,000 the previous owner was asking for the station.

While that might have been the case in the past, I think Mr. Fontana probably has the pennies today.

I was driving home today and heard the same thing...wonder what's up?

It was in the Observer on Saturday. Ms. Luke has been fired, as the station has decided to "go in a different direction." How could they decide to go in a different direction when they had not even really gotten on the air. I'd say they were probably trying to save money.

This is not a good sign to have to save money this early in the game. Better have a five year plan to be able to run the station with little income or don't even try.

Liz and John were being billed as the perfect radio couple. Shows how quickly things change. The audience doesn't like too many changes early in the game. I remember the remark the lady at unemployment made after I was terminated from a station that changed directions. She said "Well they never could figure out what they wanted to do with that station"...ouch!

Yep...I, too, wondering about Liz Luke while driving through the area yesterday. Did she get ANY air time from the new xmtr site? I also noticed--and I think this was mentioned in another thread--the hiss now heard in the audio. Oddly, it went away driving under bridges on I-85 which typically does NOT help AM reception.

I'm kind of familiar with getting canned for no real (admittable) reason.

Liz, chin up, hunny. What goes around comes around.

;D Same here "Eggie" Except there were those clear cut incidents! ::)

Funny thing...I was watching WBTV's evening news 2 nights ago (Tuesday, Oct 2) and there was a WDYT spot with Jon AND Liz.

This name sounds funny to me. I was a fan of the WB/CW series "Gilmore Girls" and Luke was one of the main characters. And he had a sister named Liz.
