Where's Mamma with her input!?!?

I'm going to have a horrible weekend not knowing what Mamma (aka Lisa) has to say about Seattle/Tacoma's trends from her homestead in Portland.

Hmmm KQMV had a bad trend... could that might have something to do with it ;)

Have a great weekend!

Yo Yo, you got no ya ya for Mamma? Do you really believe this trend? Even a sarcastic male like you can see this trend makes no sense. Are you telling me you believe that KPLZ doubled its numbers with the "Hit Hot/Ac format flip?" Are you telling me that KISW is the number two station 25-54 adults is to be believed? WARM was cut by 2/3rds? MOVIN cut in half? KMPS is the number one station again in Seattle? PLEASE. This trend is laughable and anyone with a mind not filled with testosterone knows that yo yo. Or are you the PD at KPLZ? Got ya...ya ya good! Mammaknowsbest as you will see when the final book is released.

I actually agree with Mamma. I doubt KISW or KPLZ is as strong as the May trend would suggest. I also doubt that KQMV and KRWM are as low as the May trend would suggest. Four book averages really weed out the good from the bad.

I also suspect that Mamma is not Lisa in Portland and Yoyo is not Kent in Seattle and I am not Mike P, Jay Kelly, Kent, Becky or a number of other programmers, though I am honored to be thought of in that company. (Most PD's hate sales guys)

These PD's probably have better things to do with their time, but I bet they get a laugh or two out of the posts on this board Keep posting mamma and maybe we will agree more often. Ya ya.

Yes we do.

I'll bet you are laughing Kent, or should I say Seattleradiopro, or Yo Yo, or AQH or Marv-LA or DJ Dan. You must have great fun on this board, but your comments are suspect just like your format flip and the numbers in generated this May. Jury is still out, way out. Mammaknowsbest. I knew you would flip, I knew KBSG would flip, I knew WOLF and MOVIN were for real. Seems real posters on this board may know more than the PD's with fake names. Maybe that is why 10 PD's have lost their jobs or moved in the last couple of years. Notice the female PD's like Becky, Lisa (yeah that's me...NOT), Shelly at KUBE, are having more of an impact. It's about time and that is ya ya good.

Mamma, are you a bit focused on KPLZ' s PD? He must have a lot of free time to be on this board 24/7 as five or six different names, including mine. Pretty amazing guy if he has that much time.

This was a trend, nothing more. For the record KQMV is a stronger station on a four-book than was KLSY. Will it last, we will see over the next year. You were right that the MOVIN format would be the next big wave across the nation and it clearly hurts CHR stations. However, you must be venting on this board because the station performance has been in decline now for a couple of books.

Is KPLZ's format the savior of HOT/AC based on one trend? Bit early for that. I will continue to buy KPLZ for its female 25-54 performance on a four-book, but I am not sold it is a top three 25-54 adult buy based on one trend.

Sad, I know who mamma is, dont worry guys, its not Lisa. But your secret is safe here mamma ;)

Now, like I pointed out in another thread. This is all nothing! PPM will bring the revolution. Has anyone seen the data from Philly or Houston? Cume is HUGE. Male targeted stations have huge TSL, as do A/C. Certain formats can retain their audience through a stopset. For once it will be an accurate (or as accurate as they can while only passing out a few thousand to measure a few million people) representaion of the market. Have you ever filled out a book? If you have you know that its hog wash. Wait until a PPM can tell you when your listeners flip, when they stay, who they really flip to when they leave you. It will bring a new dawn! Gone are the days of saying the calls 50 times an hour just so people will remember to write them down (whether it is you they are listening to or not), welcome fresh compelling programming that will have one goal in mind....to make the most people listen for the longest amount of time possible.

I say get real. We all know that Warm didnt lose half its audience. I also dont think KISS is actually as low as they appear. Is KZOK really #1???? This data is as reliable as a magic eight ball. Enjoy while you can, come 2 years from now, will the market have a major ratings shakeup? All signs point to yes....
