Where's Mandee and Dave???

Just did a drive-by on Tyler radio stations' websites and noticed no Mandee Montana and Dave Moreland.

When did they leave and where did they go?

Now before you go flaming me, please understand I'm in Dallas and while Tyler is my hometown, I'm not down there enough to really listen to what's going on (no pun intended).

Dave Moreland went over to 99.3 Talk FM as the Program Director. He's been over there for probably 3 years now.

<smacks forehead>

That's right...I knew that. :-[

So....where's Mandee?

I heard her on the Ranch recently. Is she still there?

Well word on the street is that Mandee does not care to be told what to do by her employer...so she hit the road. As with all things I'm sure that there is more to the story, anyway ya look at it...it sucks! Just another chapter in the ETRG saga...still...with radio being what it is today most broadcasters would have killed to have had the gig she had. I just hope she thought it through, even though she was always a little headstrong she was loved by most everyone. Good luck young lady!

I think its rather interesting that Dru LaBorde and Ginger gave Mandy her first on-air gigs, then moved her to bigger better shifts and stations. Then she leaves??? I understand needing more money, but is there any at 99.3?? Ginger and Dru always made sure with all the layoffs and such to keep her!

I miss hearing Dave Mooreland on the air he was always very suave and smooth. Hopefully he will be back on the air one day soon.

From her Facebook page, it doesn't look like she's in radio anymore. Which still doesn't preclude her from working at 99.3, I guess.

Mandee is working in the traffic department at the Blaze. All I can say is that for someone to move from on-air to the traffic department voluntarily the working conditions must be horrible at ETRG.

Im not sure how they could be horrible by Mandee's point of view??? I mean Ginger was her GM in Longview at KYKX when she started, and Dru was her PD there now Ginger is Market Manager and Dru is Ops manager. So its the same people in charge! Ginger is a very nice lady (at least from my dealings with her), and Dru well its taken a long time but I can appreciate his position today.

It may be so that she can work with her old friend Dave Moreland over there??? From what I understand hes the ops manager there. Dave is a really good guy to work for as well. So I am still puzzled as to why she left? And why they needed a traffic reporter for Tyler/Longview?? A traffic jam in both cities is sitting through a stop light twice!

Mandee is working commercial traffic - not traffic reports on-air.

Truth be told I've seen Dru and Ginger go out of the way to help their employees...at the same time I've seen them come out of nowhere and cut someone in half. In all fairness that's usually because they were put in a position where they had to take action. Success will always breed enemies...that's the name of the game. Still...I wonder if Mandee is under a non compete agreement...and will it apply to her new traffic gig?

I had heard that she does have a non compete, but Texas is a right to work state. They are VERY difficult to enforce if ETRG wants to spend the money on lawyers and risk the media fallout from it.

Would love to know your definition of "success?"

Running radio station ratings into the ground and letting good people go isn't part of what success means to me.

Well sir I'll tell ya...I've been working East Texas radio off and on for 25+ years...in my little world I've seen them come and seen them go. When I used the word "success" I simply meant that current ETRG management has managed to maintain their positions and keep the train moving forward despite the competition.
