Where's Rik "Scoop" Elliott??

Sorry for being behind the times but I just found out that Rik isn't with The Blitz anymore. Calling the station gets you the usual radio answer that Rik "is no longer with the company." Does anyone have more insight on the situation? Did he leave on his own, or not? How had his numbers been?
