Where's "Scoot" Paisant?

So whatever became of Scott "Scoot" Paisant?
I remember the good old days when both he and the good Captain Humble were at the infamous "Rampart 102".
After trying the talkradio scene at both WWL-AM and the short mistake of B-97 trying FM talk, he disappeared from the local radio scene.
Did he go elsewhere in radio or is doing something entirely different?

Hello, y'all. Scoot is in Denver, I speak w/ him regularly. He is in media, but not on the air, and I understand that his hair looks marvelous.

mistake of B-97 trying FM talk

BOY was that a mistake!!! ::) A mistake they've NEVER fully recovered from IMO. EZ Communications should've known better, but I guess that was the advice of some moron CONsultant. Why flip one of the top stations in this city to a format that didn't belong??? I admit that it gave the chance for KHOM to fill that CHR void at that time.

I will always be a #1 fan of the original B-97FM, but I think MIX 104.1 was an extemely aggressive CHR. More so than B-97 is now. MIX had killer processing, energetic jingles, quality production, and a totally different approach to Top 40 altogether. Hence that might be why their ratings skyrocketed shortly after being discovered. But like someone posted on here in a previous board, too bad Clear Channel bought 'em. It was all downhill after that....

Mix was HOT because Bill Thorman was PD at the time and Jammer was MD.. This combo and the lack of a competitor CHR station in the market at the time is the reason why Mix was a success when it first came out. Mix starting FAILING when Clear Channel took over and the OM at the time wasn't really focusing on the station but on another station in the cluster. Sadly, when B97 decided that the time was up for talk and they got back in the music business things at Mix started looking down, first with Jammer leaving to become a PD in California (his first PD job at KWWV in San Luis Obispo, CA), later on down the road Adam Smasher left to go to KRBE in Houston. After that the PD position was eliminated and the OM was programming a station he really didn't care about. Personally I think that the Mix staff when Clear Channel took over was one of the best at the time (Robb & Robb in the Morning, Kandy Klutch (PD) doing mid-days, Jammer (MD) in the afternoons and Adam Smasher at night, Darren Stephens was doing overnights (now PD in Tally, FL).

Notice what happened when Clear Channel launched 104.1 with rock, the station shot up pretty quick, why? Because they are the classic rock for the people born in the 80's, mostly 90's album rock. I think the ratings will level out soon and it will be another cookie cutter station in the market.

Comments?

Remember, radio stations don't play the same song, you just listen too much!
