Where's The Board Op?

KFYI is still in its stopset at 12:06:09 PM when :)09 late due to I-CRAP) the
El Rushbo theme starts from the network...well actually the one-hour delayed
playback of the network.

KFYI then continues in a stopset for about two-and-a-half minutes, running
spots, promos, liners, etc., intermixed with the program theme, and eventually,
El Rushbo (with talent on loan from God) opening the hour.

KFYI does have a live board op on site during weekday daytime, don't they?
Maybe not. Or someone just wasn't paying attention and let an automation
glitch run wild.

The upside of this meltdown was getting to hear El Rushbo's filler gag commercials at the next stopset: The Barbara Boxer Thong and It Could Happen magazine. Thanks KFWhyEye...that sure beats those annoying gold and vein stripping commercials!

Years ago, when KFYI would run repeats of Rush at night, you'd hear the network spots all the time. I noticed KFYI has had some continuity issues on both their online stream and on-air broadcast. At least it's not as bad as when they upgraded to the Vista-max system where KFYI played on KZZP for about an hour one afternoon.

The Nurse and I always knew KFWhyEye would be on FM one of these days! One of our favorite Clear Channel computer screw ups occurred on KayOhWhy when it was six different variations of that day's forecast in a row. Talk about narrow-casting!
