Wondering if any staitons has at least a metal show. Classic metal, thrash, hardcore, any kind of metal (except rap metal) here?

Whoops, that's right. KTRU (Rice University) still listens to their listeners without insulting them or their musical tastes. They run their hardcore show 10pm-mid. on Thursdays, and their metal show from 10-midnight on Sundays.

for the record, I'm not necesiarly an avid follower of metal, but I like to hear a little thrash every once in a while to get my blood pumping, plus I've heard a few new groups that sound like they came from the 80s in a Metallica/Suicidal Tendencies kind of way with the dualing guitar solos (but without the high vocals). Plus some of these musicians are pretty talented especially if they can play so freaking fast without the use of computers.

Of course, you can still get live metal in Houston most nights of the week. It's not my scene, but it's out there. Bob at the Meridian has a MetalFest coming up, but he tends to book a lot of metal bands during the week because---oddly enough---people pay money to get into those shows.

You can get any kind of music you want, as long as you stop relying upon the terrestrial radio conglomerates to bring it to you.
