WHERE'S WFMH?

Traveling through Northwest Alabama over the weekend, 95.5 WFMH in Hackleburg was not on the air. Tried to call, phone disconnected. What happened?

Their website's been down for about a year or so. Last time I heard them was about a month and a half ago.

Their music had improved, and they sounded like the original WFMH 95.5 that was in Cullman. My guess is Bad economy, plus lack of advertising to pay the bills, equals a silent station :(

The "larger" towns they covered were Haleyville, Phil Campbell, Hamilton, and I believe Tremont MS, and Belmont, MS. From the address I have, the studios are 26 miles from the tower in Sulligent off Highway 126. According to radio-locator, that is in their distant listening area.

I may be wrong, but I think the owners of FMH were paid some big bucks to move so 95.7 Jamz could move to Birmingham.

WFMH 95.5 is alive and well In hackleburg Alabama,
The transmitter wa s once sick and has been replaced.

Ths station is covering Russellville, phil Campbell, Red Bay, Haleyville, and Hamilton
as well as Ne Ms communities.
Ths station features a morning Talk show from 7 to 8 called Hutty and his Buddies, which is of a local flavor featuturing heated discussion about Local politics and covering Local high School sports and features Birth days on that date.

Music format is still Country old and new following hutty Is Angie doiung a Music request show.

the station has Finebaum sports talk in the afternoons.
during Foot Ball season and baseball season there have been live play by play Broadcast.
the actual transmitter is in between hackleburg and Hodges.

as for the disconnected Phone line, The new Number is 205 935 3337, and i will report back later on the new web adress which has streaming, I just dont have it book marked, on Sundays they have 3 Church programs.

Just a report on the "silence" .
