WHFS (AM) is now MoneyTalk 1010

From MoneyTalk 1010:

MoneyTalk 1010 is the Tampa Bay Area’s financial talk and lifestyle radio station. We serve both the local community and the nation at large with valuable and timely information on the financial markets and emerging trends in the economy. Our programming features a wide variety of local and national broadcasters.

Our programming originates on 50,000 watt WHFS at 1010 on the AM radio dial, WQYK-FM HD-2, and is also streamed on the iRadioNOW, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn apps.

TuneIn is displaying the old CBS Sports Radio 1010 logo.

Soon to be on FM as well.

Looks like Beasley paid 150k for the CP to rebroadcast 1010 (likely via WHFS/WBRN HD subchannel) on 106.9 FM Clearwater.

1010 was moved back to 99.5 HD2 recently. However just to clarify, it doesn't need an HD2 channel for the 106.9 translator. Just like WDAE (which isn't on an HD2 anywhere, and also still odd too me), 106.9 will directly translate from the AM signal. In other words, the translator will be broadcasting AM 1010.

Beasley buys two translators from Calvary Chapel, who, it seems are selling off their old Reach FM translators, for combined total of $125, 000.

96.3 W242CG Coral Springs, at 3 Watts, to rebroadcast 1010 WHFS Seffener.

Which means, you’ll have Beasley’s Money Talk formatted Tampa Station, 1010 WHFS heard in Coral Springs?

You can read the full translator sales list, HERE for 5/13 report on Radio Insight.

More chatter about Beasle’s new translators for WSBR 740 Money Talk radio, HERE.

That means that Beasley will use the 250 Mile Waiver to move the station into the Tampa Market to rebroadcast WHFS-AM.

The Window for Class A and Class B Stations will begin in August 2016, and that is when they will file to move it using that waiver.

AM Stations cannot rebroadcast on a translator that is outside their 2mV coverage contour, so it will definitely be moved to Tampa.

I'm betting that they will use it to cover Clearwater/northwest Tampa. 1010 has a deep null in that direction.
