Michael Smerconish has announced that he will be "consolidating" his two daily radio programs:

This, of course, means curtains for his morning show. His afternoon program is live noon-3 PM ET.
Let's see what "The Big Talker 1580" is airing from noon-3 PM ET: "The Fred Thompson Show" (a live program based in D.C.) and an hour of brokered/paid programming at 2 PM.
If they decided to retain Smerconish and air him live in the afternoons, I'm sure it would inconvenience only the three Fred Thompson listeners who tune into 1580 AM. Or will they follow their sister station WPHT, and air the show on tape delay in afternoons? Which would mean moving Dennis Miller to a live clearance (he's live 10 AM-1 PM ET). Of course, if that were the case, I have a hunch that they'd only carry the first two hours of Miller's show, followed by both hours of the Good Senator with the Trophy Wife from noon-2 PM. Or maybe they'll keep Smerconish where he is in morning drive and air his new daily show on an 18-hour tape delay. That will probably be the most feasible option. I believe "America's Morning News" is on AM 730.
