WHFS DX

Heard WHFS 1580 this morning in Charlotte, NC I assume they were still on night power 270 watts directional. The pattern shows is pointed right at us so maybe that's the reason...wow! Not a super strong signal but it was in there and easy to hear most of the time fighting with a bunch of other stations.

Wow thats pretty cool ! I'd have given anything to hear a MD station when I was down in the Triad. Now if only the unofficial HFS (94.7 FM HD2) would reach from Bethesda to Elkton :(

I pick up 1580 WHFS here also all the time at night, and I am about 400 miles as the crow flies. I bet they are transmitting on a lot higher than 270 watts at night. In fact, it comes as well as WMAL on 630, which is 5000 watts.
