It would have been nice for CBS to buy 107.9 from Annapolis and bring HFS back on that, with the same equal coverage area that it had on 99.1.

Read a comment today by way of DCRTV from the PD of a competing rock station in Baltimore insisting that CBS is making a mockery of the WHFS call letters by revamping the rock format once again.

I disagree. They've already been making a mockery of the WHFS calls for as long as "The Big Talker 1580" has been in existence.

HFS used to be a great station, even in DC. I remember it playing in a lot of businesses in and around the DC/Baltimore area for a long time.

Alas, like so many other nostalgia brands, it keeps getting dredged up and attempted to be resurrected every so often to no avail. There is a reason why it died originally, and ultimately time will tell if it will survive this trip around.

No Weasel isn't back...so far anyway....as for full power signal 97.5 does a pretty good job of reaching as far as Cecil County to the east. I do have to say it's alot like the old days when I struggled to grab that Grasonville stick but the important thing is it DOES reach here.

The FM signal was boosted the 250 watts before the flip, but it's a translator signal, so it can only be used to rebroadcast another station--so they'll have to keep that weird legal ID.

Seemingly, CBS threw it on 106.5 HD2 just so they'd qualify to use the signal. Pretty clever.

CBS didn't want to let the famous call letters go to another owner, so they slapped it on a low-profile station just to keep it in the company until they can use them again. I've seen the big companies do that before.

The translator is owned by Hope Christian Church but CBS is LMAing it. It used to be a religious station. Perhaps the religious station isn't doing so well financially.

Just wish CBS decided to put HFS on WWMX-HD3 rather than blowing up Mix 2. Or better yet put Mix 2 on 97.5!

Is that Sunday Night Ragae Show still on the air there? I am not a fan of Rock Radio but I used to love that show when Neci used to do it back in the day.
